Lodging

The are mutiple lodging options near campus along Central Ave., University Blvd., and Yale Blvd. The hotels below are in close proximity to the University campus. We recommend making your reservation by phone or by using the links below. Ask the hotel for any shuttles to the University Campus. Click on each option below to see rates and hotel contact information.

Hotels may offer a campus shuttle. Please ask about availability. Free city buses (No charge), Uber and Lyft options are availabily throughout the city of Albuquerque. 

On-campus housing (dormitories) are ususally not available during the summer. If you would like to inquire about availability please contact the Residence Life & Student Housing, Conference Services (click the words in red).

We also recommend staying at an Airbnb near the UNM campus. Staying on University Blvd, Lomas Ave. or Central Ave. are the most convenient locations. Some hotels offer free shuttles to the UNM campus. Please inquire about this service with the specific hotel you plan to stay. 

Transportation

Parking at UNM

Parking options are available on-campus and off-campus. There are no free parking options on or near the UNM campus.

• For parking lots on-campus with a letter (M, C, E, etc..) You will need a parking pass to park. Purchase a parking pass (see link below) from UNM Parking & Transportation services. Purchase two 1-week passes for Parking Lot C.

Instructions: 

To Purchase Weekly Parking for the Curanderismo Class:
  1. Click “Get Permits”
  2. Log in using your affiliated UNM login (For UNM Staff, Faculty and Students with a Bnner ID) or create a guest login (For community members. E.g. People registering for the Curanderismo Summer Class/Conference through UNM Continuing Education). If you are a community member and have purchased a parking permit in previous years, login using the acocunt you created or create a new one.
  3. On the “Purchase a Permit” page, click “Next”
  4. Select one of the following permits, check the acknowledgment boxes, and click “Next”:
    • $42.00 — Curanderismo Traditional Medicine Parking Permit Week 1 (06/01/2026–06/05/2026)
    • $42.00 — Curanderismo Traditional Medicine Parking Permit Week 2 (06/08/2026–06/12/2026)
  5. Select or add your vehicle, then click “Next”
  6. Choose a payment method from the dropdown
  7. Click “Proceed with Transaction”
  8. Click “Complete Transaction”

 

Note: To purchase both weeks, please repeat the process for the second permit. If a specific week or none of the weeks show anymore, it means there are no more spaces available in the parking lot as all available parking passes have been purchased. You will need to choose other parking options. See below.

There are parking spaces available around campus that use a meter and charge an hourly rate. You can park in any of those on the first day. We recommend purchasing a parking pass (Lot C) since it is more affordable. 

Parking Lot C is in front of the Anthropology Bldg. #163 (Building #11 in the map) where sessions are held. See UNM Main campus map aka Central Campus.

Off-Campus Parking

There are mutiple private parking lots along University Blvd. and on Central Ave. within a walking distance to the campus. There is a paid parking lot across the street from campus on University Blvd. within walking distance, at the Central United Methodist Church, address: 201 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. There are also many other parking options arounf the University Campus you can choose from using Google maps. 

Do not park on residential strees on neighborhoods close to campus. They also need a permit to park on the street that the city provides to neighborhood residents only.

City of Albuqerque Buses

The Albuquerque Sunport is about 7 minutes from campus. You can take a city bus (Route #50), taxi, uber, lyft from the airport to campus. Albuquerque City buses are referred to as ABQ RIDE and operate under the Zero Fare program. Buses are free to ride across the city. No bus pass needed. 

If you stay close to Central Ave., you can ride routes #66 and #766 which drive along Central Ave. every few minutes. Be aware of your surroundings and sit close to the driver.
